Undergraduates

We offer motivated undergraduates a full summer internship program. Learn more about interning at Wyeth Consumer Healthcare. This program teaches students about our organization, allows them to develop a good feel for the consumer health care products business, and enables them to gain valuable professional skills.

Our Consumer Sales interns work out of one of our Regional Business Centers to gain exposure to direct and headquarter sales, retail store environments, category management, and customer support functions. Basic responsibilities include assisting in the development of meeting materials and information for field sales, and analyzing and interpreting market data. We also offer a variety of internship opportunities at our corporate headquarters in Madison, New Jersey. Past internship opportunities have included Human Resources, Medical Sales, Information Systems, and Scientific Affairs. We actively recruit members of S.I.F.E. (Students in Free Enterprise, http://www.sife.org) for internship positions throughout the country.

Packaging Co-Ops (year-round)

Packaging Co-Ops assist our Display Services Group with handling all aspects of point-of-purchase displays. Basic responsibilities include coordinating with internal and external customers and third-party vendors for the design, development, and shipment of displays. Students must be pursuing a degree in Packaging Science or Engineering.

MBAs

Recruiting top talent is essential in our industry. Our success is directly related to our employees, which is why we recruit MBA students from many of the best institutions, including Columbia, New York University, University of Virginia, Cornell, and the University of Michigan.

Second-year MBA students are recruited as Assistant Product Managers, where they assist in the development and execution of marketing plans. This includes the following:

  • Managing brand profit and loss statements
  • Analyzing and interpreting syndicated market data and custom research
  • Recommending strategies
  • Conducting brand forecasting and consumption analysis
  • Coordinating numerous brand activities with other internal departments, including advertising, sales, market research, scientific affairs, finance, and manufacturing

First-year MBA students are recruited as marketing interns, where they are exposed to the daily life of a Product Manager. Marketing interns participate in a variety of brand activities and complete a special project that is presented to senior management at the conclusion of the internship.

In addition to working on brand issues, our MBA interns are exposed to a variety of outside influences. Many interns spend the day in New York City with an advertising agency, go on commercial shoots, attend focus groups, visit our Centrum® plant, and spend time at retail stores with our sales force. We have weekly luncheons, with presentations from various departments, as well as planned social activities outside of the normal business day.

PhDs

We actively seek and reward people with advanced degrees at Wyeth Consumer Healthcare. The more our employees know and the greater their abilities, the more we all benefit. Many of our positions require a PhD in statistics, chemistry, or pharmaceutics. In addition to other recruiting channels, our Richmond facility also recruits PhDs from two professional societies: ACS (American Chemical Society) and AAPS (American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists).
