Visiting Speakers Bureau
Highlights
At Wyeth, we feel strongly that some of the best people to help us share information about our prescription products are health care professionals themselves. The Wyeth Visiting Speakers Bureau (VSB) was established over a decade ago with one mission in mind: to conduct programs that educate health care professionals about Wyeth products and the disease states they are used to treat so that health care professionals may, in turn, improve patient care.
What is a VSB event?
A VSB event is a forum for a Wyeth-trained faculty member to impart disease and product information by delivering a balanced educational program to health care professionals. An event can be small, such as a meeting in a group practice office with a local expert, or large, such as a lecture led by a nationally recognized faculty member, and held in universities, medical centers, or community hospitals.
Who are the faculty members?
Faculty members have expertise in the relevant therapeutic category or disease state, and are selected on the basis of their professional qualifications and contributions to the knowledge in the specified therapeutic field.
What guidelines are followed?
VSB events are promotional in nature and therefore must adhere to the laws, rules, and regulations that govern the marketing and promotion of prescription drugs. Presentations must be limited to those disease states and treatments as disclosed on the product label that have been approved by the Food & Drug Administration.
